It is also called as Haemogram, Full Blood Count (FBC), or Full Blood Exam
(FBE) and is performed for various reasons.
Parameters used in CBC
- Haemoglobin
- Red blood cell (RBC) count
- Platelets or thrombocyte count
- Mean platelet volume (MPV)
- differential counts of white blood cells (WBC)
- RBC indices such as mean corpuscular volume (MCV), mean corpuscular haemoglobin (MCH), mean corpuscular haemoglobin concentration (MCHC), reticulocyte count, Red blood cell Distribution Width (RDW), and haematocrit (HCT)
